Zara’s mammoth global high-street success has ended in the daughter of its founders becoming Spain’s richest woman.

Inditex, who owns Zara, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti and Bershka, was first hooked up by Rosalia Mera and Amancio Ortega in 1963. Zara was the company’s first flagship offering, with the primary store opening at the high-street 12 years later.

After co-founder Rosalia’s death in August, 45-year-old daughter Sandra Ortega Mera inherited 90% of her mother’s fortune and her stake within the world’s largest fashion retailer. She is now worth $7.3 billion and the youngest female European billionaire, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

‘Sandra Ortega’s inheritance elevates her into the head wealth sphere in Spain,’ said Nicholas Moody, London-based editor at Campden Wealth, a networking community for the world’s wealthiest family businesses. ‘The interesting thing to look at could be whether her involvement with Inditex develops and if she takes a more active part within the business.’

Rosie Huntington Whiteley enters the paranormal world of Marks and Spencer’s festive advert

Rosie Huntington Whiteley should have had plenty of fun filming the Marks and Spencer Christmas advert, not least because she got to spend time as David Gandy’s fairytale beau.

The video, which have been released online, and which hits TV screens tomorrow (November 6), shows the 26-year old playing quite a number our favorite fairytale characters as she shows off the high street brand’s festive wares.

David Gandy in The Marks and Spencer Christmas advert

Directed by Johan Renck, Rosie, David, Helena and co, take us on a wonderful two-and-a-half minute journey through Alice In Wonderland, Aladdin and The Wizard of Oz.

The advert begins with Rosie taking her (very cute) Westie for a walk, before finding herself falling down a manhole and straight right into a celebrity filled Mad Hatter tea party, with a totally suave My Gandy because the top-hatted host.

After being chased through some woods by some human cards, Rosie finds herself on a magic carpet ride alongside David, before the 2 of them find themselves following a brick road to an emerald-coloured Helena Bonham Carter.

Speaking concerning the advert, Rosie said: ‘It’s really fun, very sweet and kitsch. It doesn’t take itself too seriously. But there’s a bit of pressure if you end up playing the major character or the lead.’

And, after all , while the actors and models all look beautiful, we wish your entire clothes, too. We’re especially smitten with Rosie’s Wizard Of Oz-inspired dress and ruby red slippers, and her sheer navy Alice In Wonderland number.

Time to begin writing that Christmas list…

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley took to the Balmain catwalk again yesterday, alongside one of the most industry’s biggest names, to model the label’s Autumn Winter 2014 collection.

Rosie, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn and Joan Smalls came down the runway wearing a chain of super-sexy outfits designed by Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing.

The theme for Balmain’s AW14 collection definitely centred around leather. There have been leather trousers, leather skirts, leather skirts over trousers (yep, that trend looks as if it set for a comeback). The French fashion house took another trip back to the Eighties, with super-sized shoulders, slicked back hair and a few serious chandelier earrings. Tha Balmain customer is definitely a girl that wishes to make an announcement.

Little wonder then that sitting at the FROW was Rihanna, who’s the face of the label. Although she might not were at the catwalk, RiRi was still on modelling duties wearing a top-to-toe khaki look straight from the runway.

And we reckon we’ll be seeing Rihanna wearing more only one outfit from this collection…

Victoria Beckham has yet more cause for celebration today as her first ever pre-collection goes on sale.

Sharing the scoop with fans on Twitter, VB wrote: “Excited to determine my first pre-collection arriving in stores now!”

Word of the British designer’s latest launch spread after her successful Spring Summer 2014 season at The big apple Fashion Week, this September.

Now available through Net-A-Porter.com, the pre-collection is then set to enroll in Victoria’s established lines – Victoria, Victoria Beckham, Icon, Denim and Eyewear – on her own e-commerce store.

Expect Victoria’s signature luxe styles, with blush pink and all-black hues contrasting with this season’s flash of neon yellow and bright orange – not forgetting the anticipated (but never disappointing) dose of navy blue and gray tailoring.

VB fans could also get excited for the designer’s first standalone store to open inside the not too distant future.

Responding to rumours of plans to open a shop on London’s Dover Street, the previous Spice Girl store revealed at Fashion Week: “This is where i need to have my first store. I’d care to do something it’s really new, really fresh. Something somewhat conceptual – but not an excessive amount of.”

It’s been a major year for the Beckham household – David has a brand new book, Brooklyn’s football career is off to a flying start and the family’s beloved Beckingham Palace went available on the market – and it doesn’t look set to prevent any time soon.

Big congrats to Victoria Beckham, again!

10 Things We Loved About Milan Fashion Week

Anna Dello Russo wearing Moschino

Anna Dello Russo sporting Moschino’s McDonald’s sweater dress

1. Golden arches at Moschino
We love a show with a feeling of humour, and Jeremy Scott’s first for Moschino, with prints taken from the packaging of oven chips, cheesy crisps and the world’s most renowned fast food joint, certainly came with an enormous helping of irony. Plus all of us got an iPhone cover that seemed like a section of McDonalds chips. Tasty.

Fendi AW14

2. Drone cameras at Fendi
Them taking an image folks taking an image of them…the remote controlled drone cameras hovering above us at Fendi certainly made great Instafodder, and likewise captured the show for the website’s live stream.

Dolce & Gabbana AW14

3. In the event you go right down to the woods today…
Grab your old copy of Enid Blyton’s The Faraway Tree next season, because there’s Enchanted Wood inspiration in every single place. From Marni’s feathered dresses and Sergio Rossi’s presentation in a mystical copse, to Dolce & Gabbana’s squirrel, owl and fox motifs, the forest is your friend for a/w2014.

Prada AW14

4. Retro wallpaper prints at Prada
Our favourite collections from Miuccia are those brimming with prints you have present in your Gran’s lounge circa 1972, so we fell in love with the yellows, purples and browns on show in Milan last week. We’re also hoping she makes some cushions within the same fabric. Fingers crossed…

Tods AW14

5. Geometric leather at Tod’s
From a distance we thought this was cotton, but up close we discovered the best, thinnest leather you will imagine. And it looked absolutely beautiful cut and bonded into these linear designs.

Emporio Armani AW14

6. Eat your heart out, Pharrell
Emporio Armani showed MASSIVE hats at the catwalk – they reminded us of the Vivienne Westwood person who have been glued to Pharrell Williams’ head for what appears like a month – and the InStyle team was lucky enough to have just a little try on after the show. Every one has a smaller elasticated section inside in order that the hat stays perched on top of your head in place of covering your eyes.

7. More cool bum bags!

We already questioned our style identities after we saw bum bags we liked at Long island fashion week, and now it’s happening another time. Maybe our love of flat shoes is nurturing our practical nature: who knows? Either way, we all know we’re coveting Missoni’s double bum bags for a classy hands-free option next season.

8. Cow print at No.21

Just after we thought we had the entire flat shoes any girl could ever need, we spied some DIVINE cow print flats at the catwalk at No.21. WANT! Look out for cow print ordinarily next season: it’s the brand new leopard.

9. Think pink
Yeah, yeah, we all know you’re already thinking pink – it’s been the foremost prevalent colour for the last two seasons – but it’s staying put for a/w2014 too. Fendi’s oversized fuchsia parka set our pulses racing, and if we were celebrities, we’d be fighting over Gucci’s dusky pink leather bejewelled confection to wear at the red carpet.

10. Under-the-radar brand of the week

This prize goes to Agnona, which was founded by Ermenegildo Zegna and is now designed by Stefano Pilati.  We loved the alpaca separates in navy, peppered with bright yellow, pink and orange, all displayed at the coolest mannequins we’ve seen.
